Bethnal Green lies just east of Shoreditch and is home to the famous street markets of Brick Lane and the popular flower market on Columbia Road, and offers many examples of historic East London architecture. Once known as a deprived area, Bethnal Green has become, through recent and ongoing development, an increasingly sought after residential and commercial location, with Vyner Street and Cambridge Heath Road on its Hackney border, a centre for galleries and artist’s studios. The area also boasts the Town Hall Hotel including restaurants Viajante and The Drawing Room as well as the V&A Museum of Childhood.
Recent developments include new large scale residential-led schemes on Three Colts Lane by Essential Living and Peabody.
