Top Food Spots In Spitalfields

It’s a fact – working makes you hungry. It’s also a fact that you’re not as productive when you’re hungry, far too distracted by your empty stomach to possibly be able to concentrate on the task at hand.

Which is why you would be wise to do your research into the local area and top foodie hotspots when you first rent commercial property in Spitalfields. And the good news is that you’re definitely spoiled for choice when it comes to places to eat in this part of London!

To aid you in the search for your favourite Spitalfields restaurant, here are just some of the very best you can find on the city streets.

Gunpowder

11 White’s Row

If it’s Indian you’re after, Gunpowder is the place to be, an amazing little restaurant not too far from Brick Lane that offers you a modern interpretation of family recipes. Think a keema alternative in the form of a spicy venison and vermicelli donut and you’ll be on your way to knowing what’s in store.

There are two sites in the city – this one, next to the original Spitalfields Market, and the second overlooking Tower Bridge. It was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand as soon as it opened its first restaurant back in 2015… so you know you’re in for a treat!

Ottolenghi Spitalfields

50 Artillery Lane

Any gastronome worth their salt has certainly heard of Yotam Assaf Ottolenghi, an Israeli-English chef, food writer and restaurateur and it’s a brilliant choice if Mediterranean food is high up the agenda for you and your team.

All food is freshly made and free from colouring and preservatives, with produce sources predominantly from Britain. The restaurants also work with lots of local dedicated food producers, including organic fruit and veg cooperatives in London and a prawn farm in Lincolnshire, the only sustainable farm of its kind in Europe!

Som Saa

Thai food will always be a popular choice and Som Saa has some of the best Thai around, you’ll be pleased to hear. It started off as a pop-up in London Fields and since then has grown into an amazing permanent restaurant that you’ll find yourself in again and again.

You’ll find all sorts of deliciousness on the menu, everything from grilled red legged partridge and whole deep fried sea bass to southern style venison curry. You’ll never need to go hungry again!

Wright Brothers

Brushfield Street

For something a little different, what about holding your next business meeting at the amazing oyster bar that is Wright Brothers? The bar itself is right in the middle so you can watch the chefs work their magic and there’s an undercover heated terrace that means you can enjoy your oysters all year long.
